August 13, 2021 - Calls to 911 have been intermittently interrupted. If you attempt a 911 call and are unable to get through, try the non-emergency dispatch lines at (530) 257-6121 or (530) 257-2171.

We have set up temporary additional internet-based emergency lines which are (530) 252-6046 and (530) 252-6048. The dispatch center does have internet. Text messages to 911 seems to be working for Verizon customers but not for AT&T customers.

Be aware that it will seem that the line is working but isn’t being answered. It is not always ringing into the dispatch center. Dispatchers are immediately able to retrieve messages left on any of the lines listed if they are not immediately answered.

The 911 call system and the Emergency Alert System are separate systems. Interruptions to 911 calls do not mean that alerts will not go through.
