August 15, 2021 -  The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire for Sunday.

Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 554,816 acres, an increase of 14,235 acres with 31% Contained. Burnout operations were successful last night but several areas on both the West and East Zones are still of concern for spread, especially with the potential for thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Change in the weather over the next couple of days increases the probability of stronger southwest winds

Smoke: Expecting another day of smoke lingering and not transporting out of the area. Smoke from the coastal range fires will likely impact the Central Valley communities in this outlook area. Areas north and east of the fire will have poor air quality. Expect periods of high AQI especially at night.

Health and Safety:
Avoid using candles, gas, propane, wood-burning stoves, fireplaces, or aerosol sprays and don’t fry or broil meat, smoke tobacco products, or vacuum.https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/wildfires/duringfire.html
