August 25, 2021 -  The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire for Wednesday.

Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 735,064 acres, an increase of 3,754 acres since yesterday, with 45% Containment. Active fire behavior and smoke production remains predominantly on the norther and southeastern perimeters of the Dixie Fire. 

Smoke: Southwesterly winds yesterday were able to drift much of the smoke in the forecast area off the to the east and improve air quality into the Moderate range in most communities, including those seeing consistently poor air such as Chester. Similar conditions are expected today as the smoke that has settled into valley bottoms overnight, or through this morning, should lift and improve by the afternoon hours. Changes are expected tomorrow as winds over the fire lessen and higher level transport winds shift more northerly. This will limit afternoon clearing and allow smoke from fires to the north to seep into the forecast area. Tomorrow's air quality is looking to be in the USG to Unhealthy ranges
