In Taylorsville as well as the Genesee Valley, fire USFS logoactivity is reportedly limited, and mop-up continues. In Taylorsville, prep work continues on the mountain behind town, widening the dozer line and improving the protection around structures. Up on Grizzly spot fire, crews continue trying to secure yesterday’s spot fire while watching for new spots to try and limit the fire spread to the west. Work to improve and widen the contingency lines on the southeast side of Grizzly Ridge continue. 7:45 A.M. DIXIE FIRE EAST ZONE OPERATIONAL UPDATE

The fire by Janesville and Millford has not seen a change in its footprint, although smoke continues to be seen, it is all well interior. There was also progress made in the vicinity of Antelope Lake. Along Genesee Valley Rd crews continue to find and extinguish spot fires from the Grizzly spot.

The Grizzly spot fire reached the top of Grizzly Ridge and firefighters are working down the ridge with it to the south, burning as necessary to keep it from moving to the west. This will continue today. Multiple contingency lines have been constructed between Grizzly Ridge and Quincy and Greenhorn. The Grizzly spot continues moving west, but lines are being constructed and improved to protect Taylorsville. Aircraft will continue to work at slowing its movement using both water and retardant as air quality allows.

Equipment is also working north of Davis Lake on contingency lines. The fire backing down Mt. Jura to the east of Taylorsville has reached the bottom of the valley, the lines have held, and crews will continue mopping up today. Around Dyer Mt work continues to mop up heat. There has been no movement along the fruit growers Blvd. Out towards Storrie, tactical mop up continues
