EVACUATION UPDATE 9.12.21 - EL DORADO COUNTY (2:00 P.M.)

The Evacuation Orders remain in effect in Grizzly Flats, but residents will be allowed access with a permit issued by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

If you live:

  • If you live in area of Winding Way between Tyler and Meadow Glen, east of the intersection of Grizzly Flats and Wooded Glenn, you should have received a Code Red message giving you a notice that your area is scheduled to be repopulated started Monday, Sept. 13th at 8:00 A.M. Please arrive at Four Corners, the intersection of Mt. Aukum Road and Grizzly Flats Road, at 8:00 A.M. with proof of residency and a government ID or a government ID that shows your address.

  • If you live in the area between the area of Grizzly Flats between Mount Pleasant and Wooded Glenn and south of String Canyon and Evergreen, you should have received a Code Red message giving you a notice that your area is scheduled to be repopulated started Monday, Sept. 13th at 11:00 A.M. Please arrive at Four Corners, the intersection of Mt. Aukum Road and Grizzly Flats Road, at 11:00 A.M. with proof of residency and a government ID or a government ID that shows your address.

  • If you live area of Grizzly Flat between Woodhaven and Evergreen, you should have received a Code Red message giving you a notice that your area is scheduled to be repopulated started Monday, Sept. 13th at 2:00 P.M. Please arrive at Four Corners, the intersection of Mt. Aukum Road and Grizzly Flats Road, at 2:00 P.M. with proof of residency and a government ID or a government ID that shows your address.

When you arrive, you will receive instructions about the process to gain entry to your property. Please do NOT arrive early. To expedite the permit process, fill out the reentry permit application in advance, in possible: https://arcg.is/0LHeCX.

September 12, 2021 - Evacuation Orders Downgraded - Effective Immediately for El Dorado County (10:00 A.M.)

Evacuation Order Update: The following Evacuation Orders have been downgraded to Evacuation Warnings in El Dorado County:

  • Highway 50 from Ice House Road to 36 Mile Stone will be open. All areas north of the South Fork American River to Granite Springs Road between Ice House Road and 36 Mile Stone is changed from an Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Warning. This includes all residences south of Highway 50 and north of South Fork American River. Alder Ridge Road and Silver Fork Road will remain closed to the public. The National Forest lands north and south of Highway 50 are still under an Evacuation Order and closed to the public.

REMINDER: There is still a temporary Emergency Closure in effect for the Eldorado National Forest through the end of September. This closure includes all National Forest Service lands, roads (including Mormon Emigrant Trail) and trails within the Eldorado National Forest. See Forest Order 03-21-14 for more information. To request access to private lands within the warning area, accessible via closed Forest Service roads, please contact your local Forest Service District Office. The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is closed under the Regional Emergency Closure of all National Forests in California. See the Regional Order for more information. Recreation residences and other permittees should contact their permit administrator for questions regarding access when their area becomes open for repopulation.

Repopulation consists of complex coordination between fire, law enforcement, public works, and utilities to ensure the safety of residents and fire responders alike.

The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation orders and warnings. A reminder to drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. There will be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations.
