On Sunday, June 4th at Silver Valley Ranch, the current Mariposa Rodeo Royalty welcomed the contestants for this years' contest. There was an open discussion about the contest regarding what to expect, packets of information went out and past queens Katy Casner and Jocelynn Barrington were on hand along with head coordinators Carol Suggs and Jeanne Casner to answer any questions.

Competition takes place on Saturday, August 12, 2017, starting with Horsemanship element at 8:00 a.m. at the Mariposa Fairgrounds Gold Bowl Arena (free to public). Following horsemanship Queen and Princess contestants will move into a closed personal interview.  Rodeo Royalty Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. Crowning will take place at the Mariposa Fair Rodeo on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

Each contestant is required to obtain sponsorships as well as sell rodeo tickets and raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each to win a $500 visa gift card. Rodeo tickets are $10 each. A limited number of tickets will be sold for the rodeo royalty dinner at $15 each and are available through Carol Suggs.
