SFCS 0027On Tuesday, June 6, 2017 while in Catheys Valley Park for a field trip, a large number of Sierra Foothill Charter School students and staff were able to pose for a group photo outside the historic Old School House. Principal/Superintendent Mindy Bolar is far left.

At the successful end of its fifth school year, SFCS sends a heartfelt "Thank You!" to its staff, board members, students, school families, and the community for a wonderful school year.

Given that charter schools must petition their authorizing agency every five years to continue (done, approved!), SFCS sees the end of the fifth year as a great time to acknowledge and thank its Founding Members for all of the extremely hard work that went into making SFCS possible. Here are their names and titles at the time of SFCS's inception: Jill Harry, Lead Petitioner, President, and Board Chair; Carolin Frank, Board Vice-Chair; John Elliott, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member; Naoko Kada, Board Member; Brett Baumann, Board Member; Kori Smith, Vice President; Lara Kueppers, Secretary; Ruth Smiley, Assistant Treasurer; David Ardell, Chief Information Officer; Denisha Dawson; Caroline Wenger Korn; Jim Newberry; Tiffany Newberry; and Debra Salonen. Thanks also to the many community members who helped every step of the way. SFCS was most definitely a group effort.
SFCS 4487On October 17, 2011, one week after submitting the original petition, some SFCS founding and community members posed at the Old School House. Adults pictures: (top row) Monica Medina, Benoit Dayrat, Carolin Frank, Dave Ardell, Denisha Dawson, Greg Specht, Valentin Tellez Velazquez, Rosario Telles, Stephanie Evans, Trish Gilger, (bottom row) Kori Smith, Jill Harry, and Ruth Smiley.

SFCS is proud that we have grown so much and so well the past five school years. We strive for continuous growth and improvement, making SFCS even better in the years to come.

School resumes Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
