his foreign business dealings violates one of the Constitution’s critical anti-corruption provisions: the Foreign Emoluments Clause:“The emoluments clause of the Constitution requires that the President serve the good of the American people, not the corrupting promise of money from foreign governments. President Trump’s refusal to seek Congressional approval for – or even disclose – his vast international financial interests is a violation of the Constitution and a threat to the integrity of our democracy itself.
“Whether putting Putin on a pedestal, fawning over Saudi Arabia, or going soft on China, President Trump’s actions demand urgent answers about his foreign financial interests. The Constitution requires the President to come clean about payments from foreign states, and American people deserve to know whether the President is putting personal enrichment over the public good.
“While the Republican Congress refuses to hold President Trump accountable, Democrats will use every tool we have to defend the Constitution.“
