July 2, 2017 - Fresno, Calif. — The American Red Cross of the Central Valley is opening an evacuation center for residents affected by the Spring Fire at Woodland Elementary School, 3394 Woodland Drive, Mariposa, CA 95338.

Tamericanredcross logo convertedhis is a change from the first location (New Life Christina Fellowship) that was originally announced. Volunteers will be on hand to provide water, snacks, information, and comfort. If necessary, the Red Cross is prepared to transition to an overnight shelter, offering affected residents lodging, meals, health services, and more.

Media may be allowed in the evacuation center at the discretion of the shelter manager. Please check in at the registration table upon arrival.

The Red Cross urges everyone to follow evacuation orders from local law enforcement and have an emergency kit ready go for any disaster including wildfires. Visit http://www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/wildfire to learn more.

The Red Cross is able to provide disaster relief services during wildfire season thanks to the generosity of the community. The best way to help wildfire relief efforts is through a financial donation. Visit redcross.org to make an online donation to your local chapter.
