July 28, 2017 - The Detwiler Wildfire in Mariposa County began on Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2017 at around 3:56 P.M. at Detwiler Road across from Hunters Valley Road about 2 miles east of Lake McClure. As of Thursday evening the fire was at 81,550 acres with 75% containment.

All Evacuation advisories have been lifted for Northern Mariposa County as of Friday July 28, 2017 at 11:00am, with the following exceptions:

Travel Routes
Residents should be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice. Should an evacuation order be implemented the following travel routes should be utilized.
Texas Hill & Bondurant Mine Rd-Exit using Dogtown to Coulterville or Holtzel to Greeley Hill Rd
Please be aware that Fire Crews are working on direct fire lines in the area. Please drive with caution as fire crews and heavy equipment remain in the area.

Current Situation
Crews worked through the night to build and reinforce containment lines, including the 100-acre spot fire yesterday.
Hot and dry conditions are expected today as air and ground resources continued to put out hot spots and watch for any flares. Steep and rugged terrain makes access difficult in some areas, but firefighters are still making good progress.
Residents are urged to use caution while driving as fire equipment is still operating in the fire areas.
