Music on the Green – the free outdoor summer concert series brought to you by The Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors –  presents live, in concert: Meltwater Bridge on Friday, August 4, and on Saturday, August 5, The Jespersons.

Meltwater Bridge

Meltwater Bridge on Friday, August 4

Meltwater Bridge - making their debut on the Art Park Stage Friday - provides distinct rhythm and color to songwriter/leader, Gail Dreifus’ original neo-folk songs. Dreifus is a lifelong singer, songwriter, guitarist formerly based in El Portal, now Mariposa and has been a fixture of the burgeoning local music scene for many years now. She has performed at the Strawberry Music Festival, Millpond Music Festival and National Parks, including Yosemite, Zion and Grand Canyon. She also produces the annual Yosemite Songwriter Retreat that features workshops with renowned songwriters like Joe Craven, Peter Rowen, Terre Roche and Eliza Gilkyson. For more on Gail and to sample her music, visit GailLynneMusic.com.

The JespersonsThe Jespersons on Saturday, August 5

Performing original Neo/World Folk Americana music, The Jespersons sing and play in an “around the campfire” style found in Australia, homeland of half of the duo, Kaye Jesperson. She and multi-instrumentalist husband Jared are adding extra members to create a full band experience for this performance. Songs and stories are shared with the audience that make the experience fun for the whole family in a folky, community way.

All performances begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Mariposa County Art Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Free parking on 5th Street along the Creek Walkway to the Park, also providing handicapped access.

The shows are free to the public – tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.

The Mariposa Arts Council, sponsor of Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings, is funded in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
