August 2, 2017 - A group of 20-30 volunteers, in coordination with New Life Christian Fellowship have created MariposaStrong. The Detwiler Fire Relief Center is currently located at 5089 Cole Rd. in Bootjack, and is open Monday thru Friday 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Saturday: 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M., closed on Sunday.
The center has been collecting donations of food, clothing and other goods to provide assistance to families affected by the fire. There is also a large assortment of toiletries, cleaning supplies, shoes, bedding and children's toys.
MariposaStrong is working closely with Mariposa County Human Services, to combine case files on families that lost their homes. Specific needs for temporary housing and government assistance are being matched with the generous donors and organizations. Clothing sizes, food allergies, and personal requests are being attended to.
Relief is not being limited to those who lost their homes. The fire has affected all in our community, and whether you lost a few hours of work, your storage shed or just need to catch up on groceries, they are here to help.
The Relief Center is connected with Mariposa Community Foundation, the local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization coordinating financial donations. All donations are going directly back to the families affected most.
