Get good and gooey this Saturday, August 5 at the Library's Green S.T.E.A.M. Makerspace Food Science program. The fun starts at 10:00 a.m. when we'll make slime, Silly Putty, milk clay and color changing goop and continues at noon with the movie "Oddball," based on the true story about a dog trained to protect a penguin sanctuary in Australia.

It's all free, including a complimentary bag of popcorn during the movie. Bring a blanket & lunch and spend the day in the cool air of the community room or just come for the morning or afternoon. There are only 8 spaces left for the morning program so call now to register--(209) 966-2140--or stop by the library. (No need to register for the movie.)

Upcoming Makerspace programs include:

     * rag weaving and crocheting on Saturday, August 12 and the movie “Sing” and

     * recycled toys: CD spinners and videotape wands with the movie “Trolls” on Saturday, August 19.

Space is limited and registration is required.

For more information about these and other Makerspace programs ask a librarian or email karen.dusek@mariposalibrary.org.

The Green S.T.E.A.M. Makerspace program is supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.  Local supporters include:  Mariposa Friends of the Library, Mariposa SPCA, STI, and the Mariposa County Landfill and Recycling Center.
