Sierra National Forest Butte Fire

August 17, 2017 - The Butte Fire in the Sierra National Forest stays at 635 acres and is now 90% contained as of Thursday morning.
The fire is located in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Suppression resources are at scene and engaged. A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place over the fire.
Fire crews are expected to make 100% containment today. Following containment, some demobilization will begin this weekend. Fire managers will remain at scene closely monitoring this fire. Smoke impact from the Butte is minimal.
Trail closures have been lifted. Visitors are advised to avoid the fire area.
