Sierra National Forest Butte Fire

August 18, 2017 - The Butte Fire in the Sierra National Forest stays at 635 acres and is now 100% contained as of Thursday afternoon.

The fire is located in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Suppression resources are at scene and engaged. A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place over the fire.

Fire crews contained the fire yesterday.

Some demobilization will continue through the weekend. Fire managers will remain at scene closely monitoring this fire. Smoke impact from the Butte is minimal.

Trail closures have been lifted. Visitors are advised to avoid the fire area.
