Enjoy pancakes and eggs at the Old School House in Historic Coulterville, located at the corner of Broadway and Cemetery Sts. on Sunday, September 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Not only is breakfast a great value - a generous serving of eggs, ham or sausage, “all-you-can-eat” pancakes, fresh fruit and beverage for only $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children or a family “package” for $15.00 (2 adults & 2 children), but you are helping fund Coulterville’s museum at the same time!
Special Fall Raffle
Recently one of the many skilled artisans that live in the Gold Country, Virginia Bruch, donated a lovely custom made, hand-woven shawl to the NMCHC. This beautiful shawl, in multiple tones of beige and brown, is being raffled off, with tickets available from now until the October 8th Breakfast! Tickets, which are $1 ea or 6 for $5, are available at both the September and October breakfasts as well as at the museum during regular Thursday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. hours.
If you are not a museum member, join that morning and your meal is “on the house". Members, be sure and get your annual discount! There is a free drawing for a complimentary breakfast held each month and regular raffle tickets for a terrific assortment of items that you can win on the spot. The proceeds of these monthly breakfasts as well as of the monthly and Fall raffles are used to maintain and operate the History Center, located at the intersection of Hwys. 49 and 132 (base of the John Muir Route).
The NMCHC was established as a 501c3 charitable organization in 1976 with the History Center opening to the public in 1980. Visited by thousands each year, including international travelers from around the world, the various displays and photos provide an authentic glimpse of the life and times of the pioneers who helped settle the area in the early 1800’s and those who traveled west during the 1849 California goldrush. Memberships and volunteer opportunities are available, including helping serve breakfast occasionally!
