September 20, 2017 - This year’s Race Chairman, Sheriff Jay Varney, invites all runners and walkers to join in the celebration of the 30th Smokey Bear Run / Walk. The event will be held at beautiful Bass Lake, California on Saturday, September 23, 2017. This year’s proceeds will benefit CAL FIRE and the United States Forest Service (USFS) Fire Prevention Programs and Madera County Sheriff.
Registration forms can be completed online or at the race from 6:45-7:35 AM.
Races are for the entire family to come out and enjoy. The Smokey Bear Run / Walk is a 30 point “Valley Runner of the Year Series” race. If you register before September 22nd, you will qualify for the early bird discount! Race day price is $40.00 and $10.00 for the children’s races.

Note: Road 222 closes to all vehicles at 7:15 a.m. and reopens at 9:40 a.m.
