John C. Fremont Hospital staff are pleased to announce that the installation of a new Hologic Digital Mammography Machine is complete and beginning October 4th, 2017 patients can be scheduled for their mammography examination.
“The installation of the machine and refurbishment of the mammography room was completed a week earlier than was anticipated. The timing couldn’t be better as October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time when many women schedule their exam to be done” said Lorna Coci, public relations coordinator.
In April 2015 the mobile MRI service was upgraded with a higher caliber and newer CT machine and once a week availability. In September 2015, a new 40-slice CT was installed. In April 2016 a new digital radiography and fluoroscopy (x-ray) machine was installed. And now, in September 2017 the new Mammography Machine was installed. In the last two and a half years the District has invested $1,180,000 in the imaging equipment. This state-of-the-art equipment provides high quality images, less radiation exposure, bringing improved safety and quality of care for patients.
We welcome the community to attend an Open House to be held on Tuesday, October 17, from 4 :00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., on the front lawn of the hospital, 5189 Hospital Road, Mariposa. Come see the new Mammography Machine, and the new Riggs Medical Helicopter Service now stationed at JCF. Meet our staff, enjoy some refreshments and appetizers. Door prizes and music too.
