On Saturday, October 7th the Mother Lode Jewish Community will be celebrating Sukkot with a harvest-based potluck brunch gathering in Copperopolis. The group will learn about the history and traditions of the holiday and after brunch, Rabbi Andra Greenwald will conduct a brief service and lead the group in waving the lulav and etrog, an upbeat tradition associated with this joyous holiday. Anyone interested in the group or our future gatherings can check out the MLJC website, MotherLodeJewishCommunity.org or call 209-533-1650 to learn more.
The MLJC’s mission is to provide opportunities and events that nurture a vibrant and enduring Jewish identity, culture and community in the Mother Lode, drawing members from Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties. New members are always welcome. The activity calendar includes monthly gatherings, primarily in the Murphys and Sonora areas. A full list of upcoming events can be found on the events page of the MLJC website.
