October 29, 2017 - The Beat Harvest Autumn 2017 Student Show featuring live music from the community's next generation of musicians will be held Friday, November 3rd, 7:00 p.m. at the Richard D. Fiester Auditorium at the Mariposa County High School located at 5074 Old Hwy. N in Mariposa. The show will include performances by talented local music students of all ages. The public is invited to attend. Admission is $5. All funds raised go towards the Beat Harvest Scholarship Fund, which pays for music lessons for young people from our community.
The Beat Harvest music education program was established in 2010 by Adam Burns, singer, guitarist and songwriter with the band Bootstrap Circus. The mission of the program is to inspire people of all ages to make music and teach them the skills they need to do so. Biannual Beat Harvest live shows provide an opportunity for students to perform at local venues in front of a live audience. They choose what to play, get together with friends and family to rehearse and then share their talents with the community.
