Soroptimist International of Mariposa is offering financial assistance to women who are the primary support for their family and need help covering the costs associated with further education or training.  Applications are now being accepted for the Soroptimist “Live Your Dream” Women’s Opportunity Awards. The application deadline is November 15, 2014.

The Mariposa Soroptimist will be awarding two cash grants this year for a total of $2500.  The first place award recipient will advance to the Soroptimist Sierra Pacific Region level, where they may qualify for up to an additional $5,000. The program culminates with three national finalists each receiving $10,000 awards.

“Live Your Dream Awards” can be used to offset costs associated with higher education, training or upgrading skills. This includes tuition, license fees, books, child care, transportation or any other reasonable education-related expense.
