November 7, 2017 - The community is invited to a martial arts demonstration and ceremony put on by the 2017 Black Belt Graduates of the Mariposa Martial Arts Academy, on Saturday, November 18th.
The action will take place at the Oakhurst Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room, starting at 6:00 P.M. The cost to attend is $5 ages 5 and up.
Featured in the program are Tiny Tigers (ages 3-6), Kids, Teens and Adults, who will all come together to produce an entertaining evening that demonstrates their hard work and dedication.
Fourteen black belt candidates from Mariposa Martial Arts Academy (MMAA) passed their final phase test on Friday, October 27th. They began their black belt journey in March after years of training.
Along with all their martial arts curriculum, each candidate was required to perform calisthenics such as a thousand pushups and sit-ups, community service projects, and took the several very different tests over the past few months.
Angie Borba, MMAA Director, says the mission of MMAA is to develop the best, most well-rounded martial artists, by means of physical, mental, and overall character development.
The goal is to increase the understanding of martial arts and community in students, families and team members.
