November 20, 2017 - Recently incorporated as a non-profit organization, Progressive Mariposa has worked in conjunction with generous community donations and NorCal for Puerto Rico to collect shoeboxes filled with supplies for the survivors of Hurricane Maria. Susan and Rick Leinheuser represented Team Progressive Mariposa when they delivered shoeboxes to a rendezvous point in Modesto. The shoeboxes so graciously packed and dropped off in Mariposa were added to boxes delivered from all over the district. NorCal for Puerto Rico has been organized by Dr. Amy Champ, Region 4 Director in the California Democratic Party.
Over 600 shoeboxes and 15 large boxes were delivered to Puerto Rico and we received a wonderful thank you.
Progressive Mariposa is a patriotic, non-partisan group of Mariposa citizens who use verifiable information to hold power holders at all levels accountable. We seek to educate and coordinate our members with timely, non-violent, and appropriate calls to action on specific issues and policies.
