The well attended event included an opportunity for families to visit classrooms to hear presentations from teachers about what to expect this school year.
Students and family members gathered in Ms. Erika Miranda's 5th-6th grade classroom to hear what she has in store for students this school year.All of the classrooms showcased terrific work by students already, only a few weeks into the school year. Students had a great time showing their families their displayed work.
Artwork displayed in Mrs. Brandon Kanarowski's TK-K classroom.Music instructor Gail Vanderslik and Gottschalks were on hand to help students in grades 3-8 pick out instruments. Students in grades 1 and 2 will be getting instruction with recorders.
Student Andrayah Collins tries out a violin.The event also included a book sale, information about a committee working to bring a branch of the Mariposa County Library to Catheys Valley, a display and sale of beautiful jewelry made by long time resident Rita Kidd, with all proceeds benefiting SFCS, pizza and watermelon for dinner, and an opportunity to visit with family, friends, and neighbors. It was a wonderful event!
