January 27, 2018 - Shakespeare in Yosemite—in partnership with UC-Merced, University of Warwick, and the National Parks Service—will be performing a free production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream--with Yosemite and ecological twists-- in April 2018.
The show will star professional actor/director Lisa Wolpe (founder, Los Angeles Womens' Shakespeare Company) as Puck and Mariposa County resident Connie Stetson as Bottom, and a cast of local actors–maybe you!
Performance dates: April 18 (UC-Merced)
April 20-22 (Yosemite National Park)
AUDITION INFO:
Auditions are January 27th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 P.M. in the Social Sciences and Management (SSM) building, room 116 at UC-Merced (parking is free on Saturdays)
Several roles are open, and casting will be gender-flexible.
Be prepared to read from the script of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and if you sing, dance, or play a musical instrument, please be ready to demonstrate!
Rehearsals begin March 19th (No rehearsal March 26-April 1)
All actors will be housed for free in Yosemite April 19-22
and paid a stipend.
