February 9, 2018 - The first Friday of each month, Teena Starchman's third and fourth graders and Chelsea Stillwell's TK-K students at Sierra Foothill Charter School get together for Service Learning to create decorations and cards for the residents of the Ewing Wing, John C. Fremont Healthcare District's long term care facility in Mariposa. Last week, Ms. Starchman's students wrote Valentine’s Day letters to the residents, wishing them a wonderful Valentine’s Day and drawing them beautiful pictures. Then on Friday, February 2, Mrs. Stillwell's students joined Ms. Starchman's to create heart decorations on black paper with chalk. Ms. Starchman dropped off the cards and decorations with the coordinator of the Ewing Wing who was pleased to receive them.
Keegan Smerber, Colin Jensen, and Irie Jones hold the decorations they made for Ewing Wing residents.
Oliviah English, Morgan Imrie, and Kaia Ramirez work together on Valentine's Day decorations for Ewing Wing residents.
