April 6, 2018 - Genealogy: DNA - Now What? This Merced County Genealogical Society (MCGS) Saturday, April 21st presentation will enhance your ability to navigate Ancestry's DNA website and learn how to enhance your DNA's search ability by connecting it to a family tree. Around the world, more than 7 million people have taken the Ancestry.com DNA test to find their ethnicity, unknown family members, and ancestors.
We will give a tour of Ancestry.com to see how your DNA test will be supercharged by connecting it to a family tree that you have already made or can make, by downloading it to the Ancestry website for FREE. Those who have family trees on other websites and software will be excited hear that you can download your tree, again for FREE! We will be asking for questions from you, which will enhance the overall presentation and will help the novice and fortify the experienced genealogists.
Ancestry DNA has now completed more than 7 million DNA tests, from 167 regions around the world. They have 90 million family trees on the website, which includes 20+ billion records. Small family or large, adopted or have a common name like Smith or Jones, your DNA plus a tree will help you search for other family members and ancestors. In addition, there are many free Ancestry professional online training webinars on YouTube.com, plus you can call Ancestry for any questions, 7 days a week.
