April 11, 2018 - Throughout the month of March, staff at Sierra Foothill Charter School worked with students on the meaning of the core virtue of wonder. Wonder is about always wanting to know more and wanting to know how things work. On Thursday, March 29, SFCS held a school wide assembly to celebrate students who have exhibited wonder throughout the school year.
Great job to the students recognized: Sayer Harry, Wyndham Evans, Samuel Harveston, Andrayah Collins, Rosie Neogy, Noah Eastwood, Eric Brown, Ahsha Vaziralli, Kade Videgain, and Colin Jensen.
SFCS also held its monthly raffle at this assembly. Students who go above and beyond what is expected are awarded by staff with tickets. They can use these tickets to choose immediately a prize from the treasure chest in the office or enter the tickets in a jar for a chance to win a big prize. This month's prize was a Magic Show kit.
Congratulations to Reese Evans, this month's grand prize winner.
Finally, SFCS ended this last day before Spring Break with an hour full of activities, both indoor and outside, for students to choose from as part of Fun Thursday. Activities included launching air rockets, playing kickball, blowing bubbles, various craft making options inside the multi and classrooms, chalk art, and more.
Vera Smerber is about to stomp on the air pocket that will launch the rocket Gavin Edwards is holding.
Rosie Neogy works on decorating a wooden decoration, one of a large box full of wooden decorations donated by a community member. If you have extra craft materials that you would like to donate for Fun Friday activities, you are welcome to bring them to the SFCS office at 4952 School House Road in Catheys Valley. SFCS appreciates donations.
