May 3, 2018 - All year, Teena Starchman's third and fourth graders and Chelsea Stillwell's TK-K students have been getting together for Service Learning to create decorations and cards for the residents of the Ewing Wing, John C. Fremont Healthcare District's long-term care facility in Mariposa. Recently, they got together to make spring decorations. On April 24, the students went on a field trip to the Ewing Wing to visit the residents. Ms. Starchman's students sang a few songs and all students handed their gifts to residents and spoke with them. The residents and students enjoyed their time together.
Teena Starchman's third and fourth graders, including Brandon Naranjo (closest) enjoyed singing songs to the Ewing Wing's residents. Starchman can be seen playing the Ukulele on the left side of the photo.
Keegan Smerber reads the card he made to one of the Ewing Wing's residents as his classmates look on.
