Agri-Nature Entrepreneurship Workshops to Continue with Two More Sessions
May 8, 2018 - The Mariposa Agri-Nature Association will be holding two more free workshops in the series “Developing Agri-Nature Entrepreneurship.” These sessions will be Thursday, May 10 and Thursday, May 17, both at 6:30 P.M. in the Mariposa County Government Center (supervisor's room) located at 5100 Bullion Street.
The May 10th meeting will include:
- Experiences from a successful local farmer
- Information from the Natural Resources Conservation Service on programs available to assist agricultural producers
- A presentation about Made in Mariposa
- Use of electronic and social media
- Attracting visitors
The May 17th meeting will focus even further on business development:
- Creating business and marketing plans, presented by the Mariposa County Economic Development Specialist
- USDA rural development business grants
- Presentations by the Mariposa County Farm Advisor
- What is Permaculture?
- Additional resources
- Next steps
For both sessions, some details are pending. Please refer to the MariposaAgriNature.org website for current information.
The first session on April 12 (which combined two sessions, due to a flood postponement) was very well attended. If you were unable to attend, you can still benefit from the last two workshops.
All are welcome, from those who might merely want to find out the appropriate way to market a small product, to those who have larger long-term plans for making an agri-nature tourist destination. Even those who have no specific plans now, but want to get information out of general interest, are welcome to this free set of workshops.
