Start the holiday season by creating a wreath for your front door at this fun and imaginative workshop presented by the Master Gardeners of Madera County. This will be the group’s fourth annual workshop and it will be open to the public at the Oakhurst Library Community Room on Saturday, November 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Add a dash of color to your home by intertwining a bit of greenery, ribbon and some dried materials in a festive ring. Use your own personal touch to create a unique design that will make a vibrant home decoration or a great gift.

Also included will be a demonstration of how to make pomander balls from various dried nuts, pods, and a succulent surprise! This will be only a demonstration but you can easily follow the instructions when you get home.

Learn from the experts: Master Gardeners Linda Sloan, Barbara Mattice and Sharon Carlson.  The workshop is limited to 20 participants and registrants are asked to bring the following: garden clippers for snipping greenery, gloves, wire cutters, a hot glue gun and a pair of pliers. Glue sticks will be provided.  A limited number of tools will be available.

Pre-registration is required. Call 559-675-7879 (ext-7210). Or, you can register by email at: mgmadera@ucdavis.edu.  The class requires a $20 donation for materials which will be supplied by the Master Gardeners (wire or grape cane frame, greenery, ribbon and some dried materials).

Master Gardeners educate the public throughout the year at workshops on pruning, water- wise gardening, food preserving, vegetable gardening, and more.
