Yosemite Winter!
Bridalveil Fall in the winter months is a cold frozen landscape. Thin sheets of almost frozen water freefall over the top of the fall for over 600 feet.
Not much sunshine is on this side of the valley in the winter months so things stay cold and frozen. Caution is required on the trail to the bottom of the fall as it can be very, very icy!

May 30, 2018 - LOS ANGELES, CA., GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank, America’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, announced today that it has pledged $100,000 for the historic restoration project for Bridalveil Fall, a California icon and one of the most important landmarks in Yosemite National Park. City National’s commitment to the Bridalveil Fall restoration project will help enhance the visitor experience and protect the surrounding habitat.

Plunging 620 feet down a granite cliff, Bridalveil Fall is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the Yosemite Valley. More than 400,000 visitors stop to marvel each year, and for many it is their first stop when they get to Yosemite National Park. While many of the Valley’s waterfalls are seasonal, Bridalveil Fall flows throughout the year.

Current trail conditions and parking facilities cannot accommodate the popularity of Bridalveil Fall, and overgrown vegetation has obstructed the waterfall’s viewpoint. To fix this problem, the restoration of Bridalveil Fall will enhance the visitor experience with redesigned parking and upgraded pathways and restrooms. The project, which will include a public process and shared vision for the area, will also reclaim the natural beauty and habitats as well as the rustic heritage of the area.

“We are so pleased to support these important preservation efforts of Yosemite Conservancy and the National Park Service,” said Scott Witter, executive vice president of personal and business banking at City National, which has supported the Yosemite Conservancy for more than a decade. “Visitors to Bridalveil Fall deserve a world class experience, and this restoration project will ensure that future generations can enjoy the beauty and splendor of this incredible Yosemite icon.”

“We are eternally grateful for the years of support that City National Bank has provided Yosemite and the Conservancy,” said Bob Bennitt, Yosemite Conservancy Board Chair. “The bank’s contribution to the restoration of Bridalveil Fall is heartwarming and very generous.”
