June 4, 2018 - Now in its 28th year, the free summer concert series, Music on the Green - brought to you by The Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors – continues into the 2018 season with a weekend of great Bluegrass on Friday, June 8 with The GrassKickers, and powerful electric Blues on Saturday, June 9 with Deja Blues.
The GrassKickers on Friday, June 8
We welcomed the return in 2016, after a long absence, of The GrassKickers – popular perineal performers of many past Music on the Green concerts – and by popular demand, they’ll be back on the Art Park stage this Friday. Playing Traditional, Contemporary, and Original Bluegrass music with expert vocal and instrumental aplomb, this band of seasoned professionals also incorporates laugh out loud humor into their very entertaining set.
Deja Blues on Saturday, June 9
Hailing from California’s Central Valley, Deja Blues – stalwart purveyors of the vast Blues genre – will be making their second appearance after their debut performance 2016 at the Art Park on Saturday. Together for over a decade, Deja Blues mixes the sound of their original Blues with all styles of this distinct American art form. Running the gamut from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago Shuffle, West Coast Jump to Texas Boogie, they cover deep cuts from Charlie Musselwhite, Stevie Ray, Freddy King, Hollywood Fats and Muddy Waters, among so many others.

All performances begin at 7:00 P.M. (unless otherwise noted) at the Mariposa County Art Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Free parking on 5th Street along the Creek Walkway to the Park, also providing handicapped access.
The shows are free to the public – tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.
