November 9, 2014 - A free workshop for non-profit organizations and individuals seeking grants will be held in the Mariposa County Library meeting room on Wed., Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The training will be led by Ganga Dharmappa, Regional Training Specialist from the Foundation Center, a non-profit organization headquarterd in New York City whose mission is to “strengthen the social sector by advancing knowledge about philanthropy….”
The main topics covered in the presentation will be:
1. What must be in place before seeking a grant;
2. What you need to know about grantmakers and how non-profits are supported;
3. How to identify funding partners;
4. And, how to use the Foundation Center’s resources to seek grants.
Use of the Foundation Center’s website, which is available at the Library, will also be covered. The website subscription was donated by the Mariposa Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
