Red Cross reports the evacuation center is closing, due to the improved conditions.
Status: Flat Fire burned 152 acres, zero structures lost. The fire is 25% contained.
6:10 p.m. Update:
Red Cross has updated the location of the evacuation center and will now accommodate both Calaveras and Tuolumne County residents impacted by the fire.
THE UPDATED LOCATION FOR THE EVACUATION CENTER IS 40 North Forest Road, Sonora, The 7th Day Adventist Fireside Building. The evacuation center is not providing shelter services at this time and will accommodate small domestic animals only.
June 24, 2018 - The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports the following: Flat Fire in Tuolumne County is currently estimated at 120 acres with 25% containment. Evacuations are in progress, and a there’s a threat to infrastructure. Hwy. 49 is closed between Hwy. 120 and Hwy. 132. CalFire has multiple aircraft actively working toward containment.
Fire location is listed at Hwy. 49 & Marshes Flat Road, in the Community of Moccasin. Please stay out of the area. Additional ground and air resources responding.
Evacuations:
- CalFire issuing mandatory evacuation of all of Priest Coulterville Road, to the Mariposa County line.
- CalFire extending mandatory evacuations to all areas of Jackass Ridge Road and Jackass Creek Road.
- Advisory for the Yosemite Springs Road area. Residents are encouraged to monitor the status of the fire and have a plan to evacuate if necessary.

Sheriff's deputies and CalFire are assisting with evacuations. Red Cross is organizing an evacuation center at the Creekside Building of the Tuolumne County fairgrounds for people impacted by the fire. The evacuation center will open at 6:00 p.m.
Animal control is assisting residents with the evacuation of livestock. If you need assistance evacuating livestock contact the Sheriff's Office at (209) 533-5815. Animals can also be evacuated to: 2759 Ranchito Drive in La Grange, CA.
CalFire is anticipating the mandatory evacuations will be lifted by 8:00 p.m. Please remain clear of the area until the evacuations are officially lifted by CalFire.
