Significant Exposure to Litigation Pursuant to Paragraph (2) of Subdivision (d) of Section 54956.9

1 Case

Madera County Waste Management Program, including waste collection franchises and operations at the North Fork Transfer Station and Fairmead Landfill:

1.              Discussion of recent internal audits of solid waste operations, and Public Works Department responses to audit findings and recommendations.

2.              Discussion of current rates/fees for all services and operations, and update on forecast for future rate/fee adjustments.

3.              Discussion on the proposed Organic Waste Recycling Program.

4.              Discussion and provide direction to staff on potential amendments to collection franchise agreements with Emadco and Redrock, and transfer station and landfill operations agreements with Redrock, to address change in law and audit findings and recommendations.

Discussion and consideration to adopt the Organics Waste Recycling Program and provide direction on implementing the program.
