Fire
Fire spread along with necessary firing to establish a manageable perimeter produced nearly 3700 acres growth Friday. An inversion present in the morning lifted in the afternoon, allowing for active burning conditions. This scenario will once again be present today.
Smoke
Unhealthy conditions will continue near the fire with Moderate to USG AQ over the foothills and more distant areas. Expect smoke movement upriver and valley drainages with clearing of lower elevations during the afternoon. With nightfall, accumulated smoke will drainage to lower elevations and foothills. Expect limited night time surface air quality improvement at higher elevations and elevated basins. This pattern should continue into early next week. Smoke from other fires will also be a factor.
