Sierra Foothill Charter School students spent the month of October focused on the Character Counts! pillar of Caring. They have had projects and discussions in their classrooms about what it means to be someone who cares. Students who have did an outstanding job exhibiting caring traits throughout the month were honored in a school assembly.
SFCS-1-kanarowskiMrs. Kanarowski's transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students led the assembly with a song: "We're gonna rock this school into a caring site!"
SFCS-2-sign-in-windowsMrs. Kanarowski and her students had decorated the windows of their classroom with this same main verse.

Student Council performed a skit showing how caring for yourself and others means not doing drugs -- a perfect tie-in to Red Ribbon Week.

Teachers said a few words about each student's caring behavior, explaining why they chose each particular students. Students received a certificate and will have a pizza lunch with Principal Garagarza.
SFCS-4-studentsCongratulations to Kayla Enger, Samantha Telles-Trujillo, Kayla Lawrence, Spencer Baumann, Bianca Rios, Niall Hartman, Natalee Marundee, Irie Jones, Izabella Wright, and Malte Salonen. Great job, students!
