Special Statement
This forecast is focused on smoke behavior in and around Yosemite National Park. The forecast reflects Particulate Matter - not Ozone.
Fire
The fire is now 96,606 acres with containment at 86%. Fuel in the interior of the fire has been mostly consumed. Crews are continuing to secure the perimeter near Turtleback Dome, otherwise working on mop-up operations.
Smoke
Air quality will be good to moderate today except for areas in close proximity to Turtleback Dome. Smoke production in that area could be heavy at times. Smoke will travel toward Yosemite Village and Tuolumne Meadows until early afternoon, then drain back down the Merced this afternoon and evening.
Forecast Stations
Air quality in Midpines and Camp Mather will no longer be included in this forecast. Those locations are expected to continue to experience good to moderate air quality, with minimal influence from the Ferguson fire. To see data from these monitors or others not on this map, go to tools.airfire.org
