Mother Lode Jewish Community’s HOLIDAY Gatherings

September 5, 2018 - Rosh Hashanah: The Mother Lode Jewish Community will be starting off the New Year with Rosh Hashanah Services at a community center in Jamestown on Sunday, September 9 in the evening beginning at 5:00 p.m.  There will be a potluck dinner and member-led service to celebrate the beginning of the Jewish New Year. 

Sukkot: Then in the evening on Friday, September 28, at 5:30 p.m., at a private home in Sonora, the group will be holding a Sukkot Celebration, with a traditional potluck meal and lots of singing. 

This will be followed by two events in October, a Kabbalat Shabbat on the evening of Friday, October 19 and the first of a series of 3 educational seminars led by Rabbi Andra Greenwald, scheduled for Sunday, October 21.  The focus of the series will be learning about the various prayer services, especially the Shabbat morning Shacharit.

The other two classes will be held on Sunday, November 4 and a TBD date in February.  Locations for the are pending and will be added to the event calendar on the MotherLodeJewishCommunity.org/events event page as soon as they are finalized.  You may attend just one or all three of these adult education sessions.
