Initially, Lorrie Sue was told that she would need a ramp in order to enter and leave her home. She did not have any money available to pay for a ramp to be built. Fortunately, the installation of a lift was an alternative. A non-profit organization, DRAIL (Disability Resource Association Independent Living) donated a lift. Now, the only challenge was to put the lift in place at Lorrie Sue’s home, which required money. It turned out that funds were provided by gofundme.com, the Don Pedro Lions Club, the Coulterville Community Center, as well as private individuals. Installation is set for November 20. Lorrie Sue would like to make a donation to the DRAIL organization by selling Afghans she has made by hand. Some are small and some are large. During the course of our coverage of Lorrie Sue’s story, a surprising number of people have learned about NPC and our support of spay/neuter for dogs and cats. If you would like to obtain a voucher to help with the price of spaying or neutering your pet, call Kathleen at (209) 732-6194.
