Library Book Sale Bargains
September 13, 2018 - The Mariposa County Friends of the Library’s semi-annual book sale is once again happening the first weekend in October. The sale starts on Thursday, October 4th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and closing at 6:00 p.m. The sale is open to the public, but members of the Friends of the Library (FoL) will be able to buy one book and get a second one free, not counting books from the Books Galore. Memberships are available at the door. Membership for an individual is only $5.
On Friday, October 5th, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., FoL members only will again be able to buy one book and get a second one free, not counting book from the Books Galore. The book sale will continue on Saturday, October 6th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (FoL members again getting a second free), with the last day of the sale on Sunday, October 7th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This semi-annual sale offers a great selection of fiction, non-fiction, and reference books, including some of the latest best sellers, children’s, do-it-yourself, instructional, historical, hobby, cooking, business, and many more. All sale books are priced for only $1, and as a FoL member you can get two books for that $1.
You can also take the opportunity to browse the latest and most popular hardback books from the Books Galore located in the Library meeting room. Books Galore selections are priced at a fraction of their original cost, and your favorite author’s most recent book can almost always be found.
Your membership and donations may be tax deductible. Membership donations, contributions, and fundraisers like the book sale help the Friends to enhance and support the library services we all enjoy. The public library system provides opportunities for all of us to entertain and enjoy ourselves.
The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization, and the Board of the Friends meets the first Monday of each month in the Library meeting room. Meetings are open to the public. Volunteers are always welcome!
Book donations will not be accepted after Wednesday, September 26th so that books can be sorted, no book donations will be accepted during the sale.
