October 3, 2018 - At Sierra Foothill Charter School, teachers worked with students throughout the month of September on the meaning of the Core Virtues of respect and responsibility. On Friday, September 29, SFCS held its first Core Virtues assembly to recognize students who have been exceptional examples of these traits since the start of school.

At the end of the assembly, Ms. Bolar held the monthly drawing for a special prize. Throughout the month, teachers and staff award students tickets for behavior that goes above and beyond. The tickets are placed into jars in the classroom and name are pulled on a regular basis to go to the office for an instant prize from the treasure chest or students can enter their ticket into a jar for a special prize.
The lucky winner with the September prize, an AirPogo Jumper, was Brandon Naranjo.
After the assembly, SFCS held its monthly Fun Friday event. Students earn the chance to participate in this special event through their effort and appropriate behavior throughout the month. Staff plans a number of fun activities, such as face painting, crafts, field games, and more. Students very much enjoy this special afternoon.
