October 7, 2018 - The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was streaking through the sky this Sunday evening in California. The rocket was launching an Argentine environmental satellite into orbit from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Southern California.
This launch was a first for the West Coast. The secondary mission for the Falcon 9 rocket was to touch down a few hundred yards from the original launch site at Vandenberg Air Force Base where the mission began. The U.S. Air Force gave warnings to area residents, letting them know to expect unfamiliar sonic booms.
These shots were taken by Joshua Miranda in Oakhurst at around 7:25 P.M. Thanks for sending in your pictures Josh!
