Originally dedicated in 1988, the memorial honors the service and sacrifice of California’s Vietnam veterans who were killed or missing in action, or who died from causes related to their service in Vietnam. This year’s ceremony will include the unveiling of three new names being added to the memorial wall:

A memorial ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the California Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Capitol Park, 15th Street and Capitol Avenue, Sacramento. Music and viewing of the memorial begins at 10:00 a.m.

The event is hosted by the California Veterans Benefit Fund, in collaboration with Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 500, CalVet, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Honor Committee. It is free and open to the public.
