Road 274 is now open.

Crews will now begin working on Road 222. At this time there is no time estimate to open Road 222, as we do not yet know how many trees are down.

Due to high winds, numerous fallen trees have forced a closure of the following roads in the Bass Lake area:

Road 222 in Bass Lake from the Road 432 intersection to the area of Road 221 south of the community of Wishon

Road 426 from Road 222 to Road 223 (Also known as the Forks cutoff road).

Road 274 from Road 225 to Road 434

County Roads crews will be clearing the trees as soon as it is safe to do so.

The public is requested to avoid driving in areas bordered by stands of dead trees during this wind event.



The SST weather station in Mariposa recorded wind gusts up to 3 mph overnight.

Around Midnight the Madera County Sheriff's Office released the following:
