October 26, 2018 - CAL FIRE conducted a training burn this week at the Long Ranch in Mariposa County.
Approximately 95 acres were burned during the two day training.
Firefighters trained on several different firing techniques, communication and holding.
The training burn also helped with the control of noxious weeds and helped promote native grasses.
The training was conducted under very strict weather conditions.
The vegetation is still extremely dry and precautions need to be taken to lessen the risk of starting a wildfire.
