“This is a sad milestone for America. Under President Obama’s failed leadership, the national debt has skyrocketed by over $7.3 trillion. It has officially exceeded $18 trillion. President Obama once said it was ‘unpatriotic’ and ‘irresponsible’ to add $4 trillion to the debt. By his own reasoning then, President Obama has reached a new level of irresponsibility. He has the worst record of any president when it comes to putting America deeper in debt.“Spending more money than we have is immoral; it hurts future generations who will be left to pay off the bills. Taking care of this generation shouldn’t require robbing the next. This is why Republicans have fought for fiscal responsibility in Congress. It’s why we support a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution.
“The American people spoke clearly in the recent elections. They are tired of Democrats’ free-spending ways. President Obama should listen and work with Republicans to fix the problem, balance the budget, and reduce the debt. Americans concerned about our unsustainable spending habits should think twice before electing another big spending liberal like Hillary Clinton to the White House. We literally cannot afford to continue Barack Obama’s policies. Our children and grandchildren deserve better.”
