November 13, 2018 - More than 8,700 firefighters covering 1,246 fire engines, 130 dozers, 152 hand crews, 122 water tenders, 43 helicopters and numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state are battling three large wildfires in California. Out of state resources continue to arrive and assist in these wind-driven fires that have burned more than 225,845 acres and destroyed thousands of structures.

In Northern California, dry weather continues with cool nights and near to above-normal days through the week. Critical fire weather conditions expected to end this morning as winds diminish. Widespread smoke from the Camp Fire will continue to impact the area. In Southern California, strong Santa Ana winds will continue through today, with a gradual decrease on Wednesday. Winds will remain strong enough in areas to warrant an extension in time of the Red Flag Warning through 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The combination of strong winds, low humidity, and very dry fuels could lead to explosive fire growth from any fire starts. Very low humidity will continue Thursday-Friday, but with much weaker winds.
