oakhurst california library madera countyNovember 26, 2018 - A new Saturday Family Matinee featuring the Dr. Seuss favorite, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will be shown from 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Oakhurst Branch Library on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The free event starring actor Jim Carrey will be held in the library’s Community Room at 49044 Civic Circle Drive, Oakhurst. Popcorn and beverages will be provided.

Then, on Thursday, December 13, during the library’s Story Time hour that begins at 11:30 a.m., Carolyn Campbell will introduce Santa Claus, her special guest, who is also known as Saint Nicholas. Saint Nick, as he is also familiarly known, will join Campbell that day with Christmas stories and gifts from his special bag for boys and girls. He will also be available that day to take photos with your child.

“The Oakhurst Library is committed to serving our community. We do this by not only having a wonderful supply of materials to check out, but also by providing programs for children of all ages,” said Dale Rushing, the library’s branch manager.

“The Saturday Family Matinee which will be held monthly at the library is free of charge and provides a safe place where families can gather to enjoy time together. Come join us this holiday season and share in the entertainment,” she added.

The free events are sponsored by the Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library. For more information, call (559) 683-4838 or visit www.oakhurstfobl.com
